Using the Site Management Window to
Publish Files to the Server

1. Connect to the server by clicking on the Connect/Disconnect button.

A Connected state indicates that you have made a connection to the remote site and files can be transferred.

A Disconnected state indicates that the connection has ended and files cannot be transferred. (Note: The disconnect button will appear once you have been connected to the remote site.)

Note: Dreamweaver will automatically disconnect from the remote site if there is no activity for 30 minutes. You can change the time limit by going to Edit--> Preferences. On the left hand menu select Site then increase the FTP Connection from 30 minutes to new time desired.

2. Using the Local Site panel, select the file/folder that is to be placed on the sever. Click on the button to move the file/folder to the sever.

The Put button copies files from the Local Site to the Remote Site

3. To ensure you are working on the most current document, you can move the files from the Remote Site back to the Local Site using the Get button.

The Get button copies files from the Remote Site to the Local Site
